All of this just today

When I left the house yesterday morning at 5:50 a.m. to go to work it had just started snowing and there was barely a dusting of snow on the back steps. This is what I found when I got back home at 3:00 p.m. When had snow last week but during the week the temps had risen and we got rain so the ground was bare again .... until this morning!

It could have been worse the prediction was for 8 to 10 inches for the day, so we got pretty lucky. After shoveling a path to the barn and feeding all the animals I took this picture of Ace (the Jack Russell) and Dawson (the Aussie) in the snow, on the way back to the house.

As you can see I didn't make a very wide path (I hate shoveling). All the tracks on the right hand side of the picture are from Dawson and Ace playing. By the time I took the picture Ace was starting to get cold and had stopped running around like a lunatic. I'm still curious to see how he will react to the snow when we get a real storm and it piles up higher then he is tall.

  1. Aren't you lucky to get all the snow. I hear there is another storm coming. I used to live in Connecticut and I see my cousin near Hartford got a foot of snow.
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. . . ta da" In spite of being north of you we did not get much snow. We have about 8 inches accumulated on the ground. We got an inch or so this time. We often miss the big storms here living off the northeast hip of the Great lakes. The western storms track North of us and the southwestern storms often track south of the Great Lakes.

I am with you I don't shovel much. As the socialist mayor of Bridgeport Ct used to say years ago, "The Lord put it there he will take it away" My path to the shed is just tampted down snow. I shovel enough to get the csr off the road. A couple of times a Winter I may get a neighbour to plow a bigger place.

They say this is a Winter colder and snowier than in recent years. It would be nice. Almost enough for my snowshoes so far.

Thanks for your kind words on my dog Ben. He did endear himself to me. I tried to get a Hungarian Kuvasz dog but lost out. It looks like I may get a great dane/doberman cross that needs a home with space. I am still weighing the options.
