Our evening visitor


I believe this is a Sandhill Crane, but why is he/she up here in Northern Pennsylvania? Is he/she just vacationing?

    Blue Heron, perhaps? They're native to Pennsylvania (and most of the lower 48.)

    Yes, that is a Sandhill Crane. She looks rather young, but that could be how far away the picture is. They live here in FL year round.
